boxing
MENTAL GAME
- Struggle to deal with victory and failure with a level head
- The feeling that you are not giving yourself the best chance to win
- I want my invincible spirit back!
- Find it challenging to fight the “psychological” fight
- Maintaining that state of “inner calm” in the midst of intense battle is increasingly challenging for me
- I no longer trust that I can, under pressure, summon up whatever is necessary to succeed, to perform well, and perhaps change the outcome of the fight
CONFIDENCE
- I no longer feel “invincible”
- Struggle to keep fighting with discipline and precision after being hurt
- Cannot seem to psychologically bounce back from the last big defeat
- The fear of potential injury or repeated injury seems to be holding me back
- “I can’t seem to shake off the disappointment of having not won the title
PERFORMANCE
- Inconsistent high performance
- Nutritional programme not sufficiently effective
- It takes too long to achieve a state of flow
- Struggling to think 2 or 3 moves ahead
- It is becoming challenging to generate or recover sufficient mental energy, agility and creativity in good time
- I am finding it increasingly difficult to push myself to the limits of my ability
- I am getting stuck in my comfort zone which is now creating a loss of intensity, focus and energy
- My fighting is no longer free flowing and relaxed when the pressure to win a trophy is on
EXCELLENCE
- Discipline outside the ring is insufficient or slipping
- Motivation to train with maximum effort is slipping
- I’m keen to sharpen my invincible spirit
- Nothing is wrong I just wish to be the best fighter in the ring
- Worried about having no plan for after racing
- I am getting concerned about being out-manoeuvred in dealings, negotiations and contracting with coaches, managers, directors, agents and sponsors
CAREER
- Worried about having no compelling career plan for after boxing
- I am frequently concerned about being out-manoeuvred in dealings, negotiations and contracting with either coaches, managers, directors, agents or sponsors
